Feeling left out?

There are several pretty flowers from one single tiny stem. Though they are relatively  small (roughly the size of a 5 cent coin), they are noticeable at a distance , probably due to its rich color and cluster. When the wind blows, they sway from side to side, bending slightly but remain steady and firm for at least a week. Then they fade away and new ones appear! What an awesome sight!
The picture shows that only one flower stands out. The rest, though equally pretty and gorgeous, are out of focus! Similarly, in a crowd, usually one or two will stand out.  It could be the charisma of  the person, his/her social demeanor, clothing, hairdo, makeup, social status etc...  How do you feel about being in the limelight or being out of focus?  Are you usually sensitive towards those who may have a 'left out' feeling (that they might feel as being unimportant)  in a  group/team?

I prefer to be out of focus. However sometimes I have to "get into the act" and get into focus and live the part much as I dislike it. I do this when I need to convince a crowd, voice an opinion, right a wrong or to ease a situation. With practice, this slipping from the introverted to the extroverted personality becomes easier. But after a day of this, I need to recharge by having some quiet time to myself. Hmmm, much like the flower that fades only to return with renewed vigour later on.

Am I sensitive to those who are out of focus? Definitely. Some are like me who are only too happy to be out of focus, some want to be in focus but don't know how to, some get into focus for all the wrong reasons...if I need to I help in a gentle out of focus way -the person will not even realize I am doing so.

Am I doing the right things?

Thanks for your sharing. I guess we need the discipline of introspection on a regular basis lest we are drawn into focus, for the wrong reason(s).
