Water is a blessing to humankind. We use it for drinking,
washing, irrigating etc...it cleanses, purifies and refreshes. In fact, we cannot really do without it ... rain water, sea water, bottled water, tap water etc... Personally, I am fascinated and enchanted by its beauty in ponds, lakes, seas, reservoirs, waves, fountains and waterfalls. I feel a sense of calmness, peace and tranquility.
However, though water is indispensible to our world, we also realise that water can also create much havoc and suffering too! For example, the recent storms/torrrential rains/floods have destroyed houses, plants and lives in different parts of the world! This Christmas, these people are housed in shelters and some are grieving over their tragic loss. Your thoughts?

Ready for the New Year?
In a couple of weeks, we shall enter the New Year. At this time, I usually take stock of the events and encounters of the year that is passing and draw lessons for my next lap. I can think of ppl who have touched my life and contributed to the shaping of my values and character. I thank God for them. I can also look into my own life and see how I have been a blessing or burden to others. I learn how to be a better person. I believe that every one of us can play our part in making this world a better home for all. I am committed to the cultivation of a life-long learning and growing philosophy. What are your aspirations for the New Year?

Convergence
The pix shows a convergence of boats with both the boatmen and fish mongers trading in an old fishing village which retains its rustic charm. It was a nostalgic walk down memory lane for one who grew up in a kampong setting, several decades ago!
The concept of convergence describes the force that pulls ppl together towards a common purpose.
Where is your point of convergence? What is it that will invariably draw you towards it? Your thoughts?

Icon
Lately, I have taken time to observe and appreciate the things around me, especially those that I had often taken for granted. For example, the familiar icon on the right was painstakingly developed at an enormous cost and effort by some ppl. Most of the ppl behind it would have remained unknown for the man in the street. When the design concept was first presented, the public opinions ranged from being a national pride to a sheer wastage in economic terms. Today, it occupies a special place at the bay and has become a national icon. Some still prefer to call it "durian" others would still "poke" fun at it! Have you taken time to reflect and appreciate the things as well as people around you?

Seaview
Last weekend, I was enchanted by the beautiful seaview plus those lovely clouds which enveloped the sky. I missed those layers of white clouds against the rich blue sky especially during the recent season of thick haze in our Republic.
It brought me to think a bit more seriously about those things that we often take for granted such as nature and the environment. I paused for a brief moment of prayer and asked God to forgive us for neglecting, abusing and taking His creation for granted. I resolve to rediscover the beauty of His handiwork and do all I can to promote, preserve and protect the integrity of His creation. What are your thoughts?

Sweeper
I was observing the sweeper and reflected on this: How does one make sense of the apparent endless sweeping routine, knowing that the leaves will keep falling... the next day, and the next day, and... well... on the other hand, there is job security afterall!
Do you sometimes feel a sense of paradoxical tension in who you really are and what you do each day? How does one rediscover the purpose of life and work?
Care to share your thoughts?

Busy?
Take time away from your busy schedule.
Enjoy the peace and tranquility in the quietness of a park.
Immerse in precious moments of silence.
Reflect on the present and the future beyond.
Though the path ahead seems hazy and unclear,
hear the still small voice that says,"I shall direct straight your path."
Let there be Peace within. Faith and grace shall be your portion today.
If you have a prayer concern, let me hear U out and pray for U. email:write2dl@gmail.com. Peace be with U 2day:)
